Brownhills’ competition winners for Winter 2008
As
the 2009 season begins and our customers think about winterising their
vans or driving abroad for the Winter - we take this quiet moment to announce
the lucky winners of our most recent competitions and giveaways. The photos we
took of the winners won't win any prizes and the Mountain Bike giveaway came as
a bit of a surprise as the winner arrived a week early but here
goes.................
Here's our Photo competition winner:Sally Sanford from CHRISTCHURCH in Dorset.
Sally took the picture below on a trip to the Shetlands in a Fiat Hymer BL564
Lionheart 2.8 JTD. This particular shot is a wildcamping site apparently - looks
lovely doesn't it? Sally is now the proud owner of a Canon Eos 450D, Sally says; "not only are Gary and I satisfied customers of Brownhills with our
Hymer motorcaravan, we are also very satisfied with the camera I've just won in
the photo competition. The new Canon is going to give me even more excuses to
plan more trips away.....as it's only when away in our van that we get the time
for me to play at photography! Many thanks to Brownhills, and I hope there's
going to be another photo competition in 2009!"

Here
is Hedd Jones from Church Warsop in Mansfield Nottinghamshire with a great
runners up shot (as voted for by our website visitors) with his Fiat rapido 772F
2.8TD shown clearly in the foreground (below). Hedd named his shot "Up up and
away"
Hedd wins our Brownhills Picnic set in a rucksack - made with the rugged outdoors
in mind.
Hedd sedd; “always made to feel welcome at Brownhills when we visit and the staff
are always helpful". We quite literally received thousands of hits on this very popular competition and we will definitley do something similar next season.
Over 180,000 hits were recorded on the photo competition and 125 valid submissions were uploaded to the website and attracted 1408 votes.
The choice was entirely impartial, being the highest visitor score (excluding a couple of disqualifications) arrived automatically at first and second place. The competition was fierce, at times, only a handful of points separated the top 6 entires and there were some beauties which unfortunately didnt get into the running.
The camera Sally won is an EOS 450D Digital SLR Kit and has been donated by Park Cameras, one of the
UK’s leading independent photographic retailers. With key brands such as Canon,
Nikon, Sony and Olympus along with more industry-specific brands all available,
Park Cameras looks to ensure it retains one of the largest range of photographic
equipment in the country. Log onto www.parkcameras.com or call free on 08450 50 22 66 for details.
The 2 person Picnic Rucksack is a special design to Brownhills and includes all you could ever want for that picnic out in the wilds - you get cutlery, plates, wine glasses, serviettes, bottle opener, cheese knife, breadboard, tupperware boxes, a table/ground cloth and matching napkins all neatly packed in a robust water resistant rucksack; insulated to keep cans and bottles cool. An identical rucksack is available from our accessory stores either from stock or to order at a very realistic £39.99.
Through MMM, we also gave away a superb Mountain Bike and the lucky winner this time was Dave Prothero from Merthr Tydfil in Mid Glamorgan South Wales. Dave had a bit more to say when we rang to see if everything was OK after he collected the bike; “Marvellous bike, really lovely – can’t fault Brownhills and they really looked after us when we came to visit”. Sorry about the photo Dave but when you tipped up a week early we were kind of caught without our proper camera so Gary used an auld box brownie he keeps in his desk from his days as a press photographer in the War.
Its been a busy time in our giveaways department - Val Jones, who is a Director of Human Resources in Wembley in Middlesex; won another Brownhills picnic rucsack presented at Swindon from a competition at the NEC.
Val said 'It was such a pleasant surprise to discover I had won. I'm looking forward to next summer when we will put the picnic set to good use.'
Ron and Rosie Ison were presented with a hamper of goodies when they took collection of their ninth motorhome from us, a Fiat Autotrail Cheyenne 630 – Ron placed the order on his birthday, 15 December, when he came in for his annual Christmas Lunch at Brownhills Bistro. Ron and Rosie are pictured here being presented the Hamper by our resident model - Debby Ashton
