Keeping Cool In Your Motorhome This Summer

Beat the sun this Summer and breeze through your vacation. Long days out in the summer sun can leave you feeling rather tired and flushed, so it's important your motorhome is kept nice and cool so you can enjoy relaxing and a comfortable nights sleep. Follow these top tips on how to keep cool in your motorhome this Summer.

    Air Conditioning and Fans

The most simple and cheapest ways to ensure you make the most out of your motorhome this summer are air conditioning systems and household fans. Ideally you should invest in both, air conditioning units can be rather power-hungry and for the days you're uncertain as to whether a nearby campsite allows generators then that is where the household fan comes into play, easily accessed throughout various shops and can be easily manoeuvred around the motorhome making it simple and care-free.

    Awnings and Everything In-between

Awnings come in all different shapes and sizes and are a great trick to keep both yourself and your family out of the sun – without being cooked up inside. Investing in an awning should be taken with great consideration as if you were buying a brand new motorhome. Invest in the right one and you shouldn't need to replace or repair it again. Awnings essentially shelter you while the sun is beaming down on a glorious and relaxing day, additionally you can pull up a deck chair and enjoy an ice cold beverage.

Keeping the Motorhome OUT of the Sun

One of the easiest tricks to keep your caravan out of the sun is to – well, keep it out of the sun. You can position the motorhome so the front is the opposite way to the direct sunlight. If possible, park your motorhome under a shady tree, but be warned, it may need some TLC once you've moved it away – birds can be trouble. If none of these tips are applicable to you, then invest in heat reflective sheets. Internal and external reflective sheets are incredibly easy to manage, therefore a quick getaway can be made if you've slept in and need to be back on the road.

    Water Carriers and Cooling Units

Whether you are out and about on a picnic or sat underneath your awning admiring the view, coolboxes are ideal for when its 40 degrees and you need to stay hydrated. Water carriers are available in all different sizes therefore their purposes are endless. Staying hydrated in the Summer is extremely important, whether you are the designated driver or the passenger, staying alert is key.
