Trainee Habitation Technician

Main Responsibilities

Areas of work will include motorhome 12v and 230v electrical and LPG gas systems, plumbing, and furniture and furnishings. The roles would suit individuals of any age who have good practical and technical skills.

Working alongside one of our qualified technicians you will undertake full habitation checks, maintenance servicing and repairs of motorhomes. Fitting extras when required by the customer, diagnosing technical issues and making recommendations to rectify faults. Completion of aftersales warranty work when required. To maintain the highest standards, upholding the excellent reputation of the company.

Skills Required

The successful candidate must have excellent customer service skills be polite with a warm, friendly and enthusiastic personality. You must be able to follow specific instructions and have excellent attention to detail and take pride in your work with good hand tool skills. You must be flexible and enjoy working as a team in a fast paced environment.

You must have good practical and technical skills, excellent IT skills and GCSE English and Maths (Grade A to C) or equivalent and a full driving licence.

Hours of Work

4 days on/4 days off 6.00 am to 6.00 pm shift system

Trainee Bodyshop Technician

Job Description

Working alongside one of our technicians in our Bodyshop Team you will be trained and ultimately responsible for body repair work on motorhomes; including water ingress damage repairs and bodywork accident damage.

You will be involved with Insulating and ply lining vehicles with wood and metalwork tasks to complete essential repairs.

Key Tasks

  • Carrying out insurance, warranty and Retail Bodyshop repairs to Motorhomes
  • To remove & replace internal & external skirts, vents, trims, seal’s and fixings
  • Removing & replacing internal furniture structures
  • To remove & replace internal timber plywood walls, ceilings and shower walls
  • To manufacture bespoke furniture parts if required
  • Re-sealing internal & external rails, body panels and body joints
  • Working with GRP and plastic panels
  • Writing full reports on work carried out
  • Using a camera to download pictures of work carried out to support warranty claims

Skills Required

The successful candidate will be confident with a cheerful nature, punctual and have the ability to meet strict deadlines and work under your own initiative.

  • Hold a valid Full UK car driving license
  • Excellent DIY and problem-solving skills
  • Experience in Joinery
  • You will need to have good time management skills and follow specific instruction
  • Have basic computer skills
  • Experience with fabrication metal work but - not essential
  • Must be able to work well within a team

Hours of Work

Working a 4 days on 4 days off shift pattern; 0600 – 1800

Salary

£22,000, rising to £30k+ following training (1-2 years)

Valet Team Member

Main Responsibilities

Working as part of a close knit team we are looking for a new member to help ensure all of our vehicles are cleaned inside and out to the highest standards.  This will involve washing and polishing motorhomes. Driving motorhomes in and out of the valet area.

Additional duties

You may also be required to carry out additional duties which are related to services provided by Brownhills Motorhomes, particularly during busy periods.

Requirements

The ideal person must be able to ensure each motorhome is cleaned to extremely high standards internally and externally with excellent attention to detail.  You will be pro-active and be able to work at a fast pace, working on your own initiative and as part of a bigger team. You must have a positive attitude to your work and possess a friendly persona. As you will be required to drive motorhomes you must have a full clean driving licence; ideally up to 7500kgs

Hours of Work

Tuesday to Saturday 08.30 am to 5.00 pm, with a 30 minute unpaid lunch break to be taken each day.

Salary

£10.50 per hour plus bonus

Handover Technician

Job Description

This role involves explaining the workings of all aspects of a customers motorhome to them following purchase of the vehicle; showing them how to set the Motorhome up and general workings. You will show the customer every aspect and operation of the motorhome; locker doors operation, filling points, jump points etc.

Skills Required

The successful candidate will be confident with a cheerful nature, punctual and have the ability to meet strict deadlines and work under your own initiative. You will be able to maintain a high standard of workmanship with excellent attention to detail. This is a physically demanding role in which no two days are the same. You will possess the following criteria:

  • Hold a valid Full UK car driving license - essential
  • You will need to have good time management skills
  • You will be able to follow specific instruction and manage a busy schedule
  • Have basic computer skills
  • Must be able to work well within a team
  • Small repairs ie adjusting hinges etc 

Further training will be given for the right candidate.

Hours of Work

Monday to Friday 9.00 am to 6.00 pm; with a 30 minute unpaid lunch break to be taken each day.

Salary

£24k per annum plus bonus

Habitation Technician

Brownhills Motorhomes are currently seeking a Motorhome Habitation Technicians to work in our workshop. This is an exciting opportunity to join our successful company.

We are the UK's largest Motorhome dealer and one stop destination for all Motorhome requirements. We sell new and used motorhomes, parts and accessories, undertake motorhome services/repairs and have an onsite bistro and leisure facilities. We employ around 200 staff at our 12.5 acre site.

Main Responsibilities

Completing full habitation checks, maintenance servicing and repairs of motorhomes to exacting standards. Fitting extras when required by the customer, diagnosing technical issues and making recommendations to rectify faults. Completion of aftersales warranty work when required. To maintain the highest standards, upholding the excellent reputation of the company.

The successful candidate must have excellent customer service skills be polite with a warm, friendly and enthusiastic personality. You must be able to follow specific instructions and have excellent attention to detail and take pride in your work with good hand tool skills. You must be flexible and enjoy working as a team in a fast paced environment. You must possess a minimum of two of the qualifications listed below:

  • LPG gas qualification (ACOPS)
  • 12V & 240V Experience including fault finding
  • City & Guilds engineers qualification
  • CITO LV/ELV Systems, Equipment & Circuits (desirable)
  • CITO Electrical Inspection Test

Hours of Work

Working a 4 days on 4 days off shift pattern; 0600 – 1800

Salary

£28k - £30k, depending on qualifications/experience plus monthlyefficiency related bonus.
