17th April 2019
Our Strictly Motorhoming weekend took place from Friday 5th - Sunday 7th April when we were delighted to welcome Vincent and Flavia, formerly from BBC's Strictly Come Dancing, to perform in our showroom.
Friday night, our Club Members were treated to a Pie and Pea supper followed by a performance by Deja Vu, a talented group who performed hit tracks from the 40s to modern day, with costume changes to match. They really know how to engage with their audience and had no difficulty in encouraging our members to take to the dance floor. The conga saw a challenge between the men and women to see who could get the longest conga chain onto the dance floor. The dance floor at 10 x 8m was too small to hold all of those who keenly took part.
On Saturday we had two coaches taking our members to visit the historic and beautiful city of Lincoln. They were dropped off by the Cathedral and Castle to spend 4 hours exploring the city, from the historic side to the many high street stores, cafes and restaurants.
Saturday night brought the highlight of our weekend, a dance workshop and showcase from Vincent and Flavia. After dinner and a couple of warm up games (one particularly hilarious one involving blowing up balloons with a foot pump at speed) Vincent and Flavia asked our audience to join them in a Cha Cha Cha workshop which was very well received, and everyone did brilliantly. Then it was eye down and time for a little bingo before Vincent and Flavia took to the dance floor again, this time with 4 amazing dances which wowed us all. To the delight of many of our members, they were happy to have photos taken after their performance, whilst others stayed on the dance floor to see the night out with Andy Jackson's disco.
Thank you to all our Club Members who joined us for this event, helping to make it so special. Please visit our gallery page to view all the photos from the Saturday night.
Our next event takes place from 7th - 9th June when Bobby Davro will be performing for us. If you haven't booked already, we still have a few spaces for wild camping at Smeaton's Lakes, a campsite just 5 minutes from our site. There will of course be courtesy buses running throughout the day and night to transport you between our site and Smeaton's Lakes.
