Our annual Summer Spectacular weekend was held from 10th - 12th June and was very well attended by Brownhills Club Members.
Following a Pie and Pea supper, Friday night saw a return of The Buddies who didn't fail to impress yet again with their energetic and talented performance which was very much enjoyed by all. For a moment we all forgot just how amazing their drum performance was last year until the end of their first act - truly exceptional.
During the day on Saturday, Club Members were able to visit Newark town centre on our courtesy minibuses. We also put on coach trips to Lincoln city where customers were dropped off by Lincoln Cathedral and had the chance to see the poppies in Lincoln Castle. Lincoln is a beautiful and historic city and this trip was very much enjoyed by all who went.
On Saturday night the evening commenced with a BBQ dinner followed by Lemon Tart - all of which was well received. A game of True or False, hosted by our compere Andy Jackson, saw us through to a professional performance by Summer Dreaming with their Greased Up and Ready to Roll show. Due to legalities they were unfortunately not able to perform the play list of Grease tracks that they were hoping to but nevertheless put on a brilliant show. Andy Jackson then hopped onto the decks to round the night off with his disco.
Bookings were taken for the Bistro popular Sunday carvery with both sittings selling out. Following lunch service complimentary cakes, tea and coffee were available in the showroom to bring the weekend to a close.
Despite the weather, a good time was had by all...roll on our next event in September when surely we're due a little sunshine!
